Somewhere in July, construction began for a 2-bedroom house for an 80-year-old woman who had all 10 fingers chopped off through leprosy.
Dari Poga suffered from leprosy at a very young age and had to resort to the usage of concoctions to treat her ailment. In spite of the treatment, however, she has lost all 10 fingers and now uses only her two toes to walk.
The octogenarian said has been with battling the disease since her childhood.
The construction of the house came after the ‘Withered Skins’ ‘Hotline Documentary’ by Joy News’ Seth Kwame Boateng highlighting the dehumanizing and squalid conditions the was living under.
Dr. Bawumia after watching this sad documentary of Dari Poga directed the Upper West Regional Minister to make some donation to her and also promised to build a house for the abandoned mother.
God been so good, His Excellency has fuffiled his promised to the abandoned mother. In some photos sighted by giantnewsgh.com.gh, the house promised the old woman with leprosy is ready and she will soon be moving in.
