Akufo-Addo Said The UDS College will Now Be Named After The Late Jerry John Rawlings Regardless
Rawlings, who passed on Thursday, November 12, 2020, is a critical part in the foundation of the UDS in May 1992 which has grounds in the Northern pieces of the nation.
In spite of the fact that Rawlings had dismissed before push to name the college after him, President Akufo-Addo is stating it has gotten basic for the country to submit something as critical as a college to the memory of the main leader of the Fourth Republic of Ghana.
Talking at the graduation service at the Tamale grounds of the UDS on Saturday, November 15, 2020, President Akufo-Addo said the college will even now be named after Rawlings regardless of his previous dismissal.

In 2017, I demonstrated to him through the Minister for Education, Matthew Opoku Prempeh my choice to name this college after him. “Despite these conclusions, and with all due regard to him, it is my solid conviction, which I am certain has the support of most of Ghanaians that such an honor be concurred him,” he demanded.
