Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa has said that the commission will declare the result of the presidential election by the close day, Wednesday, December 9, 2020.
The EC which couldn’t declare the election results 24 hours after the projecting of the voting form on December 7 refered to various purposes behind the postponement in announcing the results.
It refered to the downpours that disturbed the democratic cycle in certain areas as one reason for the postponement in pronouncing the champ of the Presidential elections.
Notwithstanding, the commission is certain that they will get the election results from the two leftover areas as they have gotten the results of 14 locales.
“We are trusting that in the early hours of today we will get two extra results and we will thereafter make the announcement for the victor of the Presidential elections,” Ms. Jean Mensah said at a press instructions on Wednesday [December 9, 2020] first light at 12:30 am.
The Electoral Commission is yet to get the election results from the Northern and the Bono East Regions.
