"We, Denounce The Use Of Firearms On Unarmed Civilians",- Bishop Agyin Asare

Bishop Charles Agyinasare has condemned the use of firearm by some security personnel against unarmed civilians, which resulted in some deaths during the recently-held presidential and parliamentary elections in Ghana.

“No one necessities to kick the bucket because of a political race”, the Presiding Bishop of Perez Chapel International told the assembly at the Perez Dome on Sunday, 13 December 2020.

“We, therefore, denounce the use of firearms on unarmed civilians”, he noted, adding: “We ask that appropriate investigations be led in the deaths of individuals who needed to shield their vote”.

He noted: “Majority rules system isn’t war” and, thus, asked Christians to “continue to appeal to God for harmony to win”.

Bishop Agyinasare praised President Nana Akufo-Addo for winning the presidential survey and encouraged the candidate of the main resistance National Democratic Congress (NDC), previous President John Mahama, who is contesting the outcomes, to do as such “calmly”.

“In 2012, when a comparable thing occurred, it was difficult in this nation. Various individuals have just lost their lives”, Bishop Agyinasare noted.
