The first president of the African nation of Zambia, Kenneth David Kaunda, has died at the age of 97.
The death of the founding president of Zambia was confirmed by his son, Kambarange Kaunda. The former president died on June 17, 2021. The former president was already undergoing treatment for an unknown illness at the hospital before he gave up the ghost.
The opposition party’s presidential candidate along with the people of Zambia are now in a state of mourning.
Kenneth David Kaunda was the first president of Zambia from their liberation from British rule until 1991. He was among the few remaining liberation heroes of Africa.
