“Ghana Is Safe” Interior Minister Asserts Despite Rampant Robberies

According to the Minister of Interior, Ghana is a safe country when compared to other countries in the African continent.

The minister does not seem to share in the views of the public that the country was no longer safe after the frequent robberies that were being reported in the nation. Robbers seem to have gotten bold and have been attacking various venues in broad daylight. A recent attack on a bullion van in Accra left a young police officer dead while a civilian also lost her life. Another bullion van robbery attempt was later reported on the Kasoa-Winneba road.

Despite all these, the Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery, still believes that Ghana is safe. Commenting on the attack on the bullion van, the minister stated that the government was still in control of crime in the country. To him, the government had not lost control of the nation at all.

This follows a remark that was made by the IGP of police that the only place where the crimes did not exist was heaven and as long as Ghana was not heaven, crime was going to be here.
