An Accra Circuit Court has acquitted and discharged Samuel Offei Kweku Gyan, a 25-year-old student who was accused of sodomizing a co-tenant’s 11-year-old child.
Gyan was liberated after the court had given him a shot the charge of Defilement of a youngster under 16 years.
The court directed by Mrs Christiana Cann cited the Medical Doctor’s report as saying that; “The anal and perineal territory is acceptable” and “anal Sphincter is ordinary on utilizing little fingers, just tip advanced.”
The court noticed that the Medical Doctor under interrogation expressed that, on his assessment, “it is uncertain that there was homosexuality”.
In light of that the court acquitted and discharged the accused individual.
The realities described by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Agnes Boafo are that the complainant was a Sierra Leonean and mother of the person in question. Complainant, casualty and accused live at Teshie.
Accused was a co-tenant of the complainant. On August 8 this year the complainant left for work and the casualty went to Gyan’s space to play Television game and nodded off in a love seat.
Arraignment said Gyan exploited that and engaged in sexual relations with the casualty through the anus and cautioned him not to tell anyone.
DSP Boafo said on August 9, this year the casualty visited the accused again and he rehashed the sexual demonstration.
Anyway the casualty who was not content with it educated his mom who additionally revealed the issue to the Teshie Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) at Teshie.
The unit requested that the mother look for clinical consideration for the person in question. Indictment said a full clinical report was submitted and the accused was later captured.
