Recognition Should be Given To Afrobeat Because It’s Very Popular — Davido

Davido recently spoke to America’s Cable News Network (CNN) from Ghana, Accra base where he said the Afrobeat genre is popular and patronized across the entire continent of Africa, and thus should be given the needed recognition by the international media.

The DMW executive said Africans have their own versions of mega-events such as America’s Super Bowl, which presents a major platform for entertainers to perform for their fans.

He then spoke about his newest single, “Champion Sound,” which preceded his birthday, and the corresponding fundraiser on Twitter which earned him more than 600,000 dollars.

Davido eventually issued a press statement that all the donated money will be sent to orphanages across the country, Nigeria.
“I always knew if people heard it, they would love it.”

Plus, he sets the record straight on how his joke on Instagram netted him and amount of $600k for Nigerian orphanages.

In other news, a Nigerian lady has sparked a huge debate on the internet, insisting that fans of Davido know how to take care of women as opposed to fans from other rival artistes, notably Wizkid FC.

In a video shared by a popular blog SaintAvenue on Instagram, the unnamed lady said fans of Davido (who is presently in Ghana to extend his post-birthday celebrations) know how to pamper women and get them in the right groove.
Inversely he said fans of Wizkid are very snobbish and unfriendly.
